Dental sealants can help protect your child's teeth from cavities caused by food and plaque getting stuck in the crevices of their teeth.
Made from a safe resin material, dental sealants can be applied to the surfaces of teeth (commonly permanent molars) to prevent cavities. The sealant material fills in the crevices of a tooth and “seals” off the tooth from cavity-causing agents like food and plaque. Once the selected teeth have been prepared, the sealant is painted directly onto the chewing surface of each tooth and then left to harden.
